Rachel’s Bold & Empowering Boudoir Session

Female empowerment is at the forefront in media right now. We’re sharing our stories, demanding better for ourselves and future generations, healing and celebrating one another. As a photographer I am so lucky to meet so many amazing women and spend time with them in such an intimate way. Rachel’s boudoir session was all about celebrating her badass self, It also happened to fall on the same day as the historic Women’s March! We definitely channeled all that amazing female power into our boudoir session at my studio.

Our goal was to create images that exuded confidence and made Rachel feel sexy and fierce. Rachel’s look isn’t traditional, she rocks a buzz cut, tattoos (including a Harry Potter one!) and piercings and I absolutely love that about her! I’m all about women embracing who they are and not giving a shit what anyone else thinks about it! It’s so important for women of all ages to be proud and embrace all aspects of themselves. Rachel’s boudoir session was for no one but herself and that message is a powerful one. As women we often put ourselves in service of others and forget to do things just for ourselves. Whether it’s taking a relaxing bath, treating yourself to a good meal or booking a boudoir session, taking the time to nurture our minds and bodies has lasting effects that impact every aspect of our lives.

Although I’m advocate for empowerment and embracing your true self, I’m still human and struggle with confidence and self-worth. I left this session feeling inspired by Rachel’s unwavering confidence and adventurous spirit. It was so refreshing to be in the presence of such raw beauty and fearlessness! May we all learn to truly embrace ourselves and support all the astonishing women in our lives. We all have beautiful lessons to share with one another and we are stronger together and we are apart.
